Early Intervention (EI) supports families by providing guidance, training, and resources to help parents and caregivers encourage their child’s growth, learning, and participation in everyday activities. Created by the Alabama Legislature in 1994, the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) is the state agency that serves Alabamians with disabilities from birth throughout their lives. Our “continuum of care” approach means that help is here at every stage of a person’s life.

Services are provided by our four main programs through 25 community offices, reaching residents in all 67 counties.

Through leadership and service, the vision of Special Education Services (SES) is to foster positive educational outcomes for all students with special needs.​

The mission of the Alabama Association for Gifted Children is to provide advocacy leadership, and support to assist educators, parents, and community partners in meeting the educational and affective needs of gifted children and youth in Alabama.

The Alabama Parent Education Center (APEC) is a non-profit 501c3, organized in 2002 by Alabama parents, educators, and professionals serving families. APEC provides services and supports to assist families particularly those underserved including minority, low-income, and those with children with disabilities.

APEC provides parents with training, information, and support to help them become meaningful participants in their children’s education and lives.

Your central “Hub” of information and products created for the network of Parent Centers serving families of children with disabilities.

All the materials found on the CPIR Hub have been created and archived for Parent Centers around the country to help them provide support and services to the families they serve. The CPIR employs a user-centered process, gathering the perspectives of our experienced audience—Parent Center staff members and other experts—every step of the way, to create products and services that increase Parent Centers’ knowledge and capacity in specific domains.
