Factors considered in design to close
The decision about whether to close school buildings in inclement weather is based on:
- Availability of buses
- School building conditions
- Current temperature (actual & wind chill)
- Road closure
- Weather predictions
- Storm severity
Communicating closing information
If a decision is made to close school, that information will be communicated as soon as possible. Some important reminders:
- Schools are open unless you hear from the district otherwise.
- Do not contact the school for closing information.
- Make sure your contact information is up to date in PowerSchool Parent Portal.
