Factors considered in design to close

The decision about whether to close school buildings in inclement weather is based on:

  • Availability of buses
  • School building conditions
  • Current temperature (actual & wind chill)
  • Road closure
  • Weather predictions
  • Storm severity

 

Communicating closing information

If a decision is made to close school, that information will be communicated as soon as possible. Some important reminders:

  • Schools are open unless you hear from the district otherwise.
  • Do not contact the school for closing information.
  • Make sure your contact information is up to date in PowerSchool Parent Portal.
